Kinecor agrees to acquire Weir Canada
TORONTO, ON—Kinecor
announced that it has agreed to acquire the Process Equipment Division
of Weir Canada Inc. for $25.4 million subject to post-closing
adjustments. The transaction is conditional on approval by the federal
Competition Bureau. Closing will occur following receipt of approval.

Listen up: Hearing protection tips
SAN DIEGO, CA—A
recent field attenuation study conducted by the Howard Leight
Acoustical Laboratory on the performance of hearing protection devices
showed that individual, one-on-one training was the most significant
factor in predicting good earplug performance.

NSK Canada launches brand campaign
MISSISSAUGA, ON—NSK
Canada (NSK) announced the launch of a brand campaign, which is
designed to stimulate customers' knowledge and understanding of NSK.
The plan includes campaign activities centered on the new tagline:
"Think NSK." According to the company, the brand concept addresses each
NSK customer's individual requirements and promotes top-of-mind
recognition for each.

Timken introduces maintenance manual
CANTON, OH—The
Timken Company announced the release of a new 170-page Timken bearing
maintenance manual. Written for original equipment manufacturers,
end-users and students, the manual is designed as a technical reference
on bearing maintenance in industrial and other applications.

SKF closes acquisition of PEER Bearing
TORONTO, ON—SKF
announces the acquisition PEER Bearing Company (PEER) and its
manufacturing operations in China and Thailand has now been closed.
PEER's sales in 2007 amounted to almost US100 million and the company
has about 1,400 employees.
