BURLINGTON, ON—Ivara Corporation announced that ScottishPower, a major utility company operating across the United Kingdom, selected Ivara EXP Enterprise asset performance management software to ensure the availability of the company's generation equipment. The software will be implemented at ScottishPower's portfolio of combined cycle gas turbine and coal-fired generation facilities within its Energy Wholesale business unit.

Ivara says EXP Enterprise will be a key enabler of ScottishPower's operations and maintenance strategy (OMS) that’s focused on the development and implementation of a standard and integrated reliability process. The Energy Wholesale business of ScottishPower was introduced to Ivara through The Aladon Network, which is a global network of reliability experts who are the exclusive providers of Reliability Centered Maintenance, Ivara RCM2.

ScottishPower conducted many RCM2 analyses within its power stations and wanted to improve its reliability program implementation. The company first piloted the project at its Longannet Power Station with the objective to implement the results of an RCM2 analysis using EXP Enterprise. Following an extensive evaluation, ScottishPower selected Ivara EXP Enterprise asset performance software.

"The Longannet pilot demonstrated the depth of Ivara's offering. EXP is a powerful combination of technology and practices that enables a standard and integrated asset reliability process, which is perfectly aligned with our OMS initiative," says Martin Sedgwick, head of asset management, ScottishPower. "We're also impressed with the Ivara Work Smart delivery approach, as it leverages the knowledge of both our operations and maintenance workers in the development of the new operations and maintenance strategy. Equally important, it supports the culture change required to transition us towards a more proactive environment."
