TAMPA, FL—As we all know, the tester is powered by a 6-volt battery for testing. As the sole power source, care should be taken to ensure maximum life and capacity of the battery. The manufacturer recommends that the batteries are run through a refresh cycle after every fifth charge.
A refresh cycle is a complete discharge and recharge of battery cell. This can be accomplished using either the Daytona (ASY-BAT-6V-01) or the Panasonic (CHG-6V-02) charger, inserting the battery into the charger, and depressing the button labelled "Discharge" or "Refresh" respectively. Performing this procedure will ensure that you get the most life and maintain capacity of your tester batteries.
